Dr. Carneol is originally from Dubuque, Iowa and currently resides in North Liberty, IA with her husband Steve and daughter Avery. She attended The University of Iowa Undergraduate program before earning her D.D.S. degree from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992. After graduating she practiced general dentistry in Cedar Rapids and Center Point for a few years before going to North Liberty, IA in 1995.
Dr. Carneol has been practicing dentistry since 1992 and, as a general dentist, she provides all aspects of dentistry. Her North Liberty Dental practice staffs 21 women and continues to help those in the community. After spending 25 years in dentistry, Debra still loves to see how dentistry can affect someone’s life in a very positive way. She continues to be passionate about dentistry because of the mere fact that she can change someone’s self-esteem a 180 degrees by making their smile come to life.
Through high school and college, Debra was always involved in sports, but she is relatively new to running and races. Dr. Carneol used to say “I don’t run!”, however, over the past six months several people have inspired her to run and complete her ultimate goal of finishing the World Marathon Challenge 2018. She has completed five “Tough Mudder” events and in 2015, she completed the first GORUCK Tough Challenge (20 miles/12 hour Military Team Building event). In 2016 she completed two half-marathons and in 2017 completed the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles) in Orlando, FL.
She is active in her community and she’s a member of ADA/IDA and CDS. She is also a board member of the University of Iowa Louis Shulman Hillel Foundation and a US Bank Advisory Board Member.
